Lone Star Classic* St. Mary’s law school will host the 2009 Lone Star Classic® on October 15, 16, and 17. The Classic is an annual invitational mock trial tournament that draws schools from across the nation. The competition is open to all law schools that have been accredited by the American Bar Association. The competition committee selected sixteen teams - of four students each - to compete. Each school selected to compete may enter no more than one team. This year, St. Mary’s University School of Law hosted the following law schools: Baylor University Law School; Brooklyn Law School; Campbell University School of Law; The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law; Cumberland School of Law; Faulkner University Thomas Goode Jones School of Law; Florida State University College of Law; Fordham University School of Law; University of Houston Law Center; Louisiana State University Law Center; Michigan State University College of Law; Pace University Law School; Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law; South Texas College of Law; Texas Wesleyan University School of Law; and Villanova University School of Law. The judges for the final round are the Honorable Edward Prado of the United States Court of Appeals Fifth Circuit, Mr. John E. Murphy aActing U.S. Attorney of United States Attorney's Office, and Mr. Henry J. Bemporad of the Federal Public Defender’s Office.
